Modern trends in 2026 are shifting toward DMX Wireless Control, with production teams increasingly valuing networked, software-controlled systems that support synchronized movement, layered effects, and repeatable show programming. The DMX controller market is responding with rapid innovation across standalone units, wireless gateways, and integrated app-based solutions.
At PLASA Show 2026, Wolfmix is bringing Wing to London for the first time ahead of its launch later this year. Designed to expand the award-winning W1, the WING is a DMX lighting controller that extends the Wolfmix workflow to larger stages, theatres and beyond. It adds eight motorised faders with LED light guides, eight dedicated OLED screens, a master dimmer, and a dedicated GO button for Cue List mode.
ADJ's new AX2 lighting console can output up to 32 universes of DMX, with connectivity including four 5-pin DMX ports. LSC Control Systems brings its new NEXEN Gateway Range to PLASA Show 2026. These developments reflect the broader industry shift toward open control ecosystems that support DMX/sACN, HippoNet, Companion, and REST API protocols.
ATONLITE's COLOR GIANT RGB+L Wall Washer directly addresses this wireless control trend by offering optional App Control. Users can now manage the lighting setup directly from their smartphones or tablets, adjusting colors, brightness, and effects without the need for bulky hardware controllers. For traditional setups, the fixture also features built-in Auto Mode that runs pre-programmed sequences automatically, providing a plug-and-play solution for smaller events, mobile DJs, or venues that require reliable, hassle-free operation.
As artificial intelligence continues to strengthen lighting programming workflows through automated cue generation, music analysis, and predictive maintenance, the combination of intelligent software and responsive DMX hardware is set to define the next generation of stage lighting control.
